After the first event was cancelled last month, the easing of COVID-19 restrictions to Level 2 allowed Woodhiil Sands to conduct their first competition weekend of the season on the 5th and 6th of September. The Peninsula Medical ShowJumping Event was well attended, even under the COVID-19 protocols that were in force.

The feature event of the weekend was the Mini-Prix for horses, which was taken out by Auckland’s own Alexa Randall in combination with her 9-year-old gelding Cirrius GNZ. The pair rode carefully across the two rounds, incurring three time penalties in total while leaving all the rails in place. Second place went to Laura Inkster and Nikama MVNZ. Inkster and the 8-year-old mare went clear in round 2 after taking a single rail in the first round. Karaka rider William Willis paired with his 9-year-old mare Cassera MS to take third place
