Olivia Apatu wins back to back Pony of the Year
Twenty five combinations started the class, with the top 8 coming back in the reverse order of penalties and time for Round 2. Four combinations carried zero penalties from the first round and three of these combinations backed it up to deliver a double clear (Helen Kippen and Velocity NZP, Julie Davey and Joligne De Carmel and Nakeysha Lammers and Balboa NZPH). Julie Davey and Joligne De Carmel had a fantastic round, but In the end it all came down to time and it was the final combination who sealed the deal in this thrilling finale. Congratulations to Nakeysha Lammers and Balboa NZPH.

CLASS 44: Farmlands Pony Of The Year 1.25-1.35m
With 30 combinations starting the class, the very challenging Round 1 course delivered only three clears, with the top 8 making it through to the second round. Carrying 4 penalties from the first round, it was Emma Watson and Maddox Fun House who were the first combination to jump clear in the fastest time of 52.85, leaving them on their 4 penalties from Round 1 and taking them into the lead.
With three combinations carrying zero penalties into Round 2, Karis Spurway and Delta Le Camouflage unfortunately collected 1 time penalty. The current Pony of the Year Champion, Olivia Apatu on Iasaan Arzu delivered the first double clear of the competition and secured themselves at least a second place.
With Apatu having one hand on the trophy, it all come down to the final combination of Ally Stevenson and Jakaranda. However one rail down meant that Apatu could firmly grasp the trophy and claim the 2019 Pony of The Year title and hold onto that trophy for the second consecutive year.
