Following the ESNZ AGM at the weekend, ESNZ has released the Show Dates Card for the 2020-2021 Season.
Commencing in late August at Woodhill Sands and running through to the traditional final show of the season at Glistening Waters in early April, there will be events stretching the length of the country.
Most weekends will see multiple shows held in different parts of the country, with just a short two week break over the Christmas/New Year period. The last event for 2020 will be the Taupo Christmas Classic finishing on December 20 and the season resuming on the third of January, again at Woodhill Sands.
The New Zealand World Cup Qualifying Series is planned over six rounds, with venues including, Hawke’s Bay, Egmont, Feilding, Taupo. The final round will be conducted at Woodhill Sands over the weekend of 16-17 January 2021.
The highlight of the season will once again be the Horse of the Year event, to be held at the Hastings Show Grounds from the 9th to the 14th of March.
Takapoto will be on again this season. Scheduled over two weekends in late February as a lead up to the Horse of the Year, we are hoping that travel restrictions are lifted in time for a strong contingent of Australian entries to participate, as has been the case for the last two years.
