The Equibreed NZ and VDL Top Mare Series for 2018/19 was taken out be LT Holst Andrea. Ridden for the season by Brooke Edgecombe from Waipukurau, LT Holst Andrea fought out the series from their main rival, Cortaflex Graffiti MH and Melody Matheson. While there was only a 34 point difference between first and second places, there was a large gap of almost 100 points back to third placed Mea I ridden by Fraser Tombleson.

While the competition was very close for most of the series, LT Holst Andrea skipped away with the win by accumulating 77 points through March and April while Cortaflex Graffiti MH could only total 38 points over the same period.

This is the second year in a row that LT Holst Andrea has won this title, proving that last year’s victory was no fluke. Also, it rounded out a huge season for this talented mare, who also placed second in the Equissage Horse Grand Prix series, behind the all-conquering Windermere Cappuccino.

The mare that scored the most points in each of the events where mares in the series competed, are listed below:

LT Holst Andrea was the only mare to score points in more than 12 rounds, and since only the best 12 rounds can be counted towards the series total, points had to dropped off her raw score to arrive at the final adjusted score.
