The New Zealand World Cup 2018/19 Season

The New Zealand Series of World Cup Qualifying events for 2018-19 has wrapped up with Tegan Fitzsimon from Christchurch combining with the 8-year-old gelding Windermere Cappuccino to be crowned series champions. The combination competed in just four of the six qualifying events, and were a model of consistency with two wins and two second placings. To further highlight their class, this combination recorded just a single rail over the four rounds.

Winners of the final round at Waitemata, Brooke Edgecombe and LT Holst Andrea finished in second place overall, while the leading combination going into the final round of Briar Burnett-Grant and Veroana, could only finish eleventh, to finish in third place overall.

The series win entitles Fitzsimon to travel to Sweden for the World Cup finals in April, however, it is understood that she is unlikely to accept the invitation and may have plans to travel to Australia instead.
